Two days prior to Christmas, I had the opportunity to reconnect with Ava Duvernay for our second shoot together. While years have past, her fiery passion for film still burns brightly. Thanks to her Oscar nominated documentary 13th, thousands have been enlightened about the “intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States.”
