The Venice Beach Street Photography Workshop is a fun and intensive 1-day workshop held in Venice Beach, California. I will personally guide you through the streets of Venice, where I have called home for over 10 years, and share my street shooting secrets. Venice Beach is a cultural melting pot rife with opportunities to explore your photographic vision. This workshop will teach you how to overcome your fears, utilize your tools, and how to make a good photograph great. You will learn how to forge a connection with your subject, how to use natural or available light to your advantage, and seize photographic opportunities. After the shooting session, there will be a group critique where you will be able to discuss your work and gain important feedback from your peers. Throughout the course, we will personally assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
SCHEDULE:
Saturday, 9 AM – 6 PM
9:00 – Meet & Greet at Art of Studio on Abbot Kinney
10:00-11:15 – Lecture: Street Photography 101 Crafting a Great Image
11:30 – 2:30 – Shooting
2:30 – 4 – Edit Session at Art of Studio
4:30-6 – Critique
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Camera (SLR or DSLR preferred, but open to alternative mediums like the iPhone, film cameras, and point and shoots)
Multiple memory cards with sufficient storage space (8 GB minimum is preferred)
Computer (Laptop preferred) with photo editing software–preferably Adobe Lightroom or Image Mechanics.
Jump drive or hard drive to transfer and archive images.
Willingness to step out of your comfort zone
